Silent Delight: a nun dresses up during a halloween party.
David Rosenberg, Editor of Slate Magazine‘s photography blog, Behold, met Laura Husar Garcia at Chicago’s Filter Photo Festival and fell for her series, “Beyond the Veil: Nuns at Home.” Featured in a November 2015 post in the Slate blog, the accompanying interview may be read

Laura commented, “I met David Rosenberg at a Filter Photo Festival gathering this year. I told him about my project, showed him a few images, etc. and he followed up with a request to do the Slate interview. The article explained my background with nuns pretty well, I think, meaning I started on my own, then it became a collaboration and museum exhibit. After that I still ventured out with my camera. I don’t think I’ll ever be finished with the project, though long periods of time have passed between shooting. During her Filter lecture, Aline Smithson said she sometimes continues her projects indefinitely, too. I can relate!”
